Job Description
The Position:
The Programme Associate position is located in the UNFPA Hargeisa Office and is part of a team coordinated by the Assistant Representative/Head of Sub-Office and supports in applying established systems and procedures in assisting in the creation of substantive knowledge by compiling, synthesizing and analyzing information relevant to population and development, reproductive health, youth and gender issues. You are instrumental in facilitating programme /project implementation using and developing appropriate mechanisms and systems and ensuring compliance with established procedures.
You will report directly to the Assistant Representative.

Job Purpose:
In a global organisation, where many of our people are based in challenging environments, you will play a vital role in supporting the design, planning and management of UNFPA’s Country Programme by providing and managing data inputs, providing logistical and administrative support, monitoring project implementation, and following up on recommendations.

The Programme Associate works with and provides support the members of the Technical and Programme Team in the CO, as well as the team under the IOM; staff in the country office, sub offices and Support Unit; officers at the Regional Offices as well as all staff within the Country Office. Contacts with staff and other personnel promote achievement of common goals and shared objectives and demonstrate personal commitment to UNFPA’s mandate and organizational vision.
Both internal and external contacts include exchange of information on broader aspects of the work area which may include providing clarification of non-routine matters involving some technical input.
