Overview of position

Role objectives

  • Participate in field data collection activities, particularly in FGD’s, KII’s & capacity assessment of partners.
  • Supervise Field Monitors & implement data quality control measures during field data collection, contribute to the development, updating & reviewing of tools for data collection.
  • Manage proper tool / protocol application during data collection.
  • Assign tools for sites selected for each round.
  • Oversee the preparation for TPM Monitors’ training on tools / protocols & TPM processes.
  • Carry out induction training of TPM Monitors on tools / protocols & TPM processes.
  • Manage the review of all completed reports from TPM Monitors.
  • Manage files & folders for reporting.
  • In collaboration with the Senior Consultant, carry out spot checks & re interviews in the field.
  • Track & update IP feedback on all verification reports.
  • Coordinate preparation of TPM key findings summaries.
  • Support activities related to pre deployment, deployment, post deployment & reporting.

Project reporting

This role reports to the line manager.

Key competencies

  • Appropriate seniority of personnel (project management, analysis, report writing, enumeration skills / data collection.
  • Staff must have practical experience in project management, design of third party monitoring (including through mobile data collection e.g. tablet modalities) including systematic geodata referencing, analysis of data, report writing of third party monitoring reports.
  • Staff with demonstrated experience and knowledge in program sections (WASH / nutrition / health / child protection / education) & demonstrated understanding of the social, political and security context in Somalia, with ability to conduct analysis & provide advisory services.
  • Depth of capacity available (numbers of staff / consultants & assets supporting third party monitoring efforts), organogram detailing staff organisational structure, list of sub contractors used, materials / equipment / software to be used for data collection, storage and analysis.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of local culture & dialects used by different communities.
