PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Qatar Charity Somalia is seeking a qualified and highly motivated person who can lead an education project staff in Somalia the education officer will closely work with senior project staff in ensuring the education projects’ success.

Key responsibilities:

• Evaluating and ensuring the quality and standards of teaching and learning in schools and Colleges managed by Qatar Charity.
• Conduct awareness raising for CECs, teachers, and the community on children’s rights and a violent free learning environment with zero tolerance to all kinds of child abuse including bullying in and out of school
• We are evaluating and reporting on the work of teachers and the progress of teaching subject/area in schools.
• Lead all fieldwork to conduct school assessments and other studies that the project might undertake in the course of the project life.
• Collaborate with other education program activities for synergy in the implementation of project activities.
• Ensure the timely production of quality monthly and quarterly reports by collecting reports of different field locations into one account and submission to a line manager or other key management staff.
• Document program learning and disseminate lessons learned to key stakeholders in the field.
• Prepare reports on each field visit conducted and submit the report to a line manager or other key management staff.
• Make sure to improve effective cluster participation and presence

Qualification and skills

• University degree in Education or any other related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in the same role is required.
• Strong command of English
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Good command of Ms. Office applications

• Coordination and liaising skills, community mobilization skills
• Good oral and written communication skills (English, and Arabic)
• Proficiency in computers.
• Excellent knowledge of nutritional-related issues.

• Ability to cooperate with others and work in a participatory manner to achieve established goals.
