POSITION OVERVIEW
The Market & Value Chain Specialist will provide technical assistance on WFP’s agriculture-based food systems interventions, including the production, post-harvest loss management program and market access strategy, and support overall implementation of the Climate Smart Food Systems strategic outcome 3 of the WFP Somalia Country Strategic Plan 2022 – 2025, which aims to enable the consumption of healthy diets for all. The candidate is expected to work autonomously while ensuring close collaboration with Country, Area and Field Office based staff as well as external stakeholders.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
DO YOU MEET THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE?
Education: Advanced university degree in Agriculture, Business, Market Information Systems, Environmental Engineering, Food Sciences, or other fields relevant international
development assistance, or First University Degree with additional years of related work experience and/or trainings/courses
Experience: + 5 years of relevant professional experience
Languages: International Professional: Fluency (level C) in English language. Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official UN language an added advantage.
