Role Overview:
Allaawayn Company is seeking a motivated Marketing Assistant to support the execution of offline marketing initiatives and community engagement strategies. Based in Garowe, you will play a key role in driving foot traffic, strengthening community connections, and enhancing our brand’s local presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create Marketing Plan and Customer Database – the marketing assistant will develop comprehensive marketing plan and database
  • Community Engagement:
    • Assist in sponsoring and participating in local events, such as school activities, festivals, and charity drives.
    • Help organize and host in-store or community-based events like workshops and fundraisers.
    • Build relationships with local organizations, schools, and religious centers to strengthen community connections.
  • Traditional Advertising:
    • Support the design and distribution of promotional materials (flyers, posters, brochures) in high-traffic community areas.
    • Coordinate and oversee local billboard and street banner campaigns for maximum visibility.
  • In-Store and Experiential Marketing:
    • Help implement loyalty programs and localized promotions to engage and retain customers.
    • Participate in planning and executing pop-up events, street team activities, and interactive product displays.
  • Direct Outreach:
    • Conduct door-to-door campaigns and contribute to building a local customer database.
    • Work with community leaders, trade associations, and local influencers to promote brand awareness.
  • Customer Advocacy:
    • Assist in implementing referral programs and gathering testimonials to showcase community trust.
    • Gather feedback through surveys and suggestion boxes to inform improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in marketing, community engagement, or a related role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in the Somali language are a must.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Creative and results-oriented mindset.
  • Familiarity with Garowe’s local culture and community networks is an advantage.
