Organizational Background

The World Food Programme Somalia activities include food assistance for relief, emergency school feeding, nutrition and food assistance for assets creation through provision of in-kind and cash-based transfers.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of Food Security Cluster Co-ordinator and overall supervision of the Area Coordinator in WFP Mogadishu Office, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Quality data management for the Food Security Cluster (FSC) and ensure timely submission of reports;
  • Update and maintain the FSC physical and electronic archives;
  • Capacity building of FSC partners through training on how to manage the FSC reporting templates/matrix;
  • Create and maintain directory contacts and mailing lists of Food Security Cluster partners;
  • Support the development of the cluster’s information content and upload on FSC website;
  • Monthly preparation of dashboards and share with United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA);
  • Monthly preparation of the 3W matrix and share with OCHA, generate cash data and share with relevant stakeholders;
  • Respond to adhoc requests on reporting and data analysis;
  • Review and rate Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP) AND Somali Humanitarian Fund (SHF) proposals during Cluster Review Committee;
  • Provide logistical and administrative support to the FSC team;
  • Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:  Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in Geography, Information systems, Social studies any other related functional field is desirable.
 Experience  At least three years of progressively responsible support experience including at least on year in the development/humanitarian sector
 Language:  Fluency in both written and spoken English and Somali is a requirement.
 Knowledge  Experience utilizing computers, including word processing, PowerPoint, MS excel and access spreadsheet and other software packages. Knowledge of WFP policies and procedures in the area of work.
