DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Programme Officer – Climate Change Adaption will work as part of the livelihoods and food systems team within the Somalia Country Office (CO) Programme unit. This position is a country-wide role and will involve travel to all the area offices under the Somalia Country Office.
The Programme Officer will contribute to the strategic shift and growing resilience-building portfolio and will be responsible for:

4. Monitoring and Reporting & Information
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Advanced University degree or University degree with experience and training/courses in one or more of the following disciplines: economics, agricultural sciences, environmental sciences, natural resource management, development studies and social sciences.
Experience:
Strong knowledge of climate adaptation livelihood and resilience building activities. 3 years post graduate, progressively responsible, work experience in programme roles in the relief, recovery or development contexts.
Knowledge & Skills:
Proficiency in Windows, MS Office (Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook) Competencies: Ability to plan and organize work in a responsible manner; ability to write clearly and concisely in English; ability to conceptualize issues and analyze data; good interpersonal and communications skills.
Languages:
Working knowledge of English (proficiency/level C) and intermediate knowledge (intermediate/level B) of another UN official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish).
