WHY WORK WITH WFP SOMALIA

In Somalia, the World Food Programme provides food assistance for nutrition, livelihoods, and relief through the hard work of more than 500 employees who contribute to make Somalia hunger free in close partnership with local partners.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  •  Provide nutrition M&E programme management support through data analysis support, ensuring regular updates on implementation progress and a M&E coordinated approach that complies with WFP standards and procedures.
  •  Liaise with Area Offices, Logistic Unit, Budget and Programme unit and Partnership Unit in the preparation, monitoring and updating of the implementation plan and monthly distribution plans for nutrition commodities ensuring timely submission and tracking of nutrition pipeline and ensuring that rigorous quality standards are maintained.
  •  Contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely reporting on nutrition programmes that enable informed decision making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders.
  •  Provide inputs to the development of Monitoring, Review and Evaluation plans that will provide the most relevant and strategic information toward achieving expected results (as set out in the Country Strategic Plan (CSP) and other plans), while being compliant with WFP requirements.
  •  Support WFP Management in addressing recommendations from monitoring, reviews and evaluations to ensure that follow-up actions are taken as required.
  •  Support analysis of operational data, mid-term reviews and thematic reviews which are intended for internal learning, strategic and operational decision-making.
  •  Contribute to the development of nutrition monitoring tools including relevant indicators for processes, output, and outcome nutrition indicators
  •  Liaise with budget and programming, logistic, VAM, Area and field Offices on regular updating of WFP Seasonal Analysis and Response Plan (SARP) and Implementation Plan (IP) in line with needs-based plan (NBP) based on latest FSNAU projections.
  •  Contribute to the Nutrition Budget Proposals reviews including the formulation and technical reviews of the call for proposal documents in readiness for the new Field level agreements based on WFP programming policies and Protocols
  •  Other duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Advanced University degree in Nutrition/Health or relevant field. Or, First University Degree with additional years of related work experience and/or trainings/courses.

Experience:

  •  A minimum of 3 years’ experience in health and/or nutrition specific M&E
  •  Experience in implementing nutrition programs
  •  Experience in in designing qualitative and quantitative surveys and using a variety of quantitative and qualitative analytical tools and methods.
  •  Proficient in the use of Excel and handling large data sets

Language: Fluency in English language. Somali Mother tongue
