CARE International is an international NGO working in Somalia. CARE and its partners work with vulnerable communities to address the underlying causes of poverty and promote peace and development, as well as mitigating immediate suffering caused by drought, conflict and displacement. The Somalia NGO Consortium promotes information sharing, cooperation and joint advocacy initiatives amongst local and international NGOs working in all regions in Somalia. This recruitment is managed through CARE Somalia.
CARE is seeking applications from qualified and talented candidates for the position of Partnership and Grants Manager for the Somalia NGO Consortium based in Mogadishu 50% and Nairobi 50% with at least travel to the field offices in Somalia.
1. Background of Somalia NGO Consortium
The Somalia NGO Consortium is a voluntary mechanism that brings together local and international NGOs working in Somalia to encourage information sharing, cooperation, coordination and joint advocacy in order to better work together to improve the lives of Somalis affected by conflict, natural disasters, poverty. The Consortium aims to facilitate a more coherent NGO voice and assist NGO members to channel their concerns and suggestions to appropriate decision makers in the most effective format. Having already established itself in Nairobi, Baidoa, Kismayo, Garowe, Hargeisa, and Mogadishu.
Overall objective
As a Partnership & Grants Managar, you are committed to establishing and nurturing strong relationships with a broad range of partners from a variety of different cultural contexts and diverse membership of the SNC. You are detail-oriented and have the ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines simultaneously. You are a dedicated civil servant who is passionate about supporting your colleagues to deliver various different activities. You will coordinate and support SNC’s coordination teams in documenting programme activities, outcomes and impacts, synthesizing information for organizational learning as well as producing reports for funders. You will also support the programme teams and SNC’s leaders team to translate project proposals and organizational activities into concept notes and funding proposals, ensuring proposals are in appropriate format for funding partners.
2. Key Responsibilities
Partnership Management (30%) Contribute to the development and implementation of a fundraising strategy, as guided by the Management Board;
Grant Management (30%)
The Partnership and Grants Manager will undertake activities and tasks in project development, reporting, coordination and donor liaison as part of the Consortium’s efforts to implement and report on its portfolio.
Organizational support / Administration / Office systems (20%)
The Partnership and Grants Manager is responsible for strategic day to day management of the consortium secretariat operations / daily coordination and facilitation of office support, including:
