What will you do?

  •  Contribute to Country Office (CO) due diligence processes, for partners and vendors, to ensure compliance with minimum WFP and UN standards, vetting requirements and sanctions reviews.
  •  Attend Cooperating Partner Committees (CPC) to provide advice on high-risk areas, ensure discussion and consideration of monitoring data is factored into any new agreements.
  •  Support the development and implementation of enhanced partnership risk management tools, including the development and implementation of a CO spot check tool to support performance and risk management of WFP’s 100+ partners in Somalia.
  •  Conduct due diligence reviews including with corporately used tools such as the UN Partner Portal, ensuring CP data is accurate, validated with stakeholders and that misrepresentation of partnership data is flagged/escalated to relevant focal points in a timely manner.
  •  Periodically attend Vendor Management Committees to support the review process for inclusion of new vendors on WFP rosters.
  •  Review operational and strategic partnership agreements between WFP and Somali line ministries or other national institutions to ensure coherence and compliance with provisions of WFP’s Country Strategic Plan, WFP regulations and rules, and prevailing programme objectives.
  •  Provide support to other legal/donor agreement reviews as needed.
  •  Support the periodic update of the CO Risk Register to ensure completeness, mitigation action updates and ongoing monitoring of highest risk areas. Support data upload and knowledge management requirements in corporate risk management system as needed.
  •  In coordination with the Risk & Compliance Adviser and Regional Fraud Prevention Specialist, conduct fraud risk assessments for high-risk process areas or for new/innovative activities and initiatives.

Do you meet the minimum requirements?

Education: Bachelor’s degree in risk management, accounting, business administration, law or related studies.

Experience: At least two years of relevant professional experience in risk management, audit and oversight. Previous working experience in Somalia or with a United Nations agency or NGO is preferred.

Language: Proficiency in oral and written communication in English is a must.

Knowledge & Skills:

  •  Practical knowledge and experience of risk data analysis in humanitarian and development context.
  •  Capacity to deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines and pay attention to details
  •  Excellent writing and analytical skills including data visualization.
  •  Ability to work independently and engage effectively with other teams.
  •  Proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
