The International Rescue Committee has been working in Somalia since 2006, providing essential services to conflict and disaster affected communities. The IRC has been operational in Central Somalia (Mudug, Galgadud and Bay regions) and Mogadishu implementing interventions in the areas of livelihood, WASH, Governance and peacebuilding, GBV, Nutrition, education and health reaching out to more than 200,000 conflict and drought affected people.
JOB OVERVIEW
Temporary Supply Chain officer is a key position to the success and delivery of quality programs. IRC defines Supply Chain as those systems and functions necessary to implement programs effectively, inclusive of planning, procurement, logistics, inventory management, property and asset management as well as vehicle and fleet management. The Temporary Senior Supply Chain officer is responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring of supply chain activities with special to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
Under the direct supervision of the Supply Chain Coordinator, the Temporary Supply Chain officer will be responsible for managing the Supply Chain functions to ensure efficient procurement and delivery of supply chain functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Supply Chain Planning
The Temporary Supply Chain officer is responsible for supporting the Country Supply Chain team in implementing Emergency Response in all locations in support to the program implementation. Supply chain planning includes procurement, warehousing and asset management.
2. Procurement Management
The Temporary Supply Chain officer is accountable for implementation of procurement activities, ensures all program procurement needs and plans are met on time in accordance with GSC and donors’ standards
3. Asset and Inventory Management
The Temporary Senior Supply Chain officer will be responsible for maintain and update asset and inventory records in the Emergency Response Grants supporting the field teams.
4. Compliance and Ethics
The Temporary Supply Chain officer will be responsible for identifying and reporting compliance risk in supply chain processes, implementing procurement controls, identifying procurement red flags, implementing internal and external audit corrective action plans and ensuring all supply chain activities are conducted ethically.
5. Reporting
The Temporary Supply Chain officer is responsible for compiling Country office supply chain reports and forwarding to the Senior supply chain manager.
