Formal Education Network for Private Schools (FENPS) is seeking for Education Project Coordinator.

FENPS is a non-governmental organization registered in Somalia, and was established in 2003 to take a role in addressing the particular needs of especially vulnerable groups in society, for example young girls in general, children belonging to minority groups, internally displaced people, refugees, returnees, the disabled and children from deprived backgrounds, who often lack education, health care, protection and livelihood opportunities. FENPS has a vision of a society where all children have access to quality education and are not subjected to any abuse. Its mission is to uplift children and allow them to grow in confidence, succeed and realize their fullest potential through guidance, education and training in secure and caring environments that are conducive to learning. The aim of FENPS is to provide youth and children with positive values and skills for their personal and national development.

Job Description

Duration of the Job Position: Short term (Maximum 1 year but can be extended)

§ The Project Coordinator will be responsible for building awareness of the project beneficiaries and other stakeholders,

§ Ensuring visibility of the project both internally and externally and implementation key activities,

§ The Project Coordinator is responsible to lead project planning, action plans and monitoring processes;

§ Ensures submitting activity reports, meeting minutes and financial reports on regular basis to the FENPS Program Manager;

§ Lead and motivate the project team, mentor teaching and non-teaching staff of the project;

§ Represent education meetings in project area and coordinates work with stakeholders and beneficiaries of the project.

§ The position holder must suggest recommendations to FENPS Administration and encourage affected community to help them participate in the project implementation processes. § The position holder encourages gender equality and promotion equitable access to all planned interventions of the project. The activities of this project will take place in Hirshabelle State of Somalia so that the position should be familiar in the region and should have experience in working environment and context of the project area

Education /Qualification

Bachelor Degree in Education or Social Science

Experience:

# 5-9 year experience in primary education field

# Familiar with Education in Emergencies

Requirements:

  • Have good concept in Child Safeguarding and child protection approaches
  • Excellent in report writing and drafting meeting minutes
  • Profound communication skills
  • Excellent in English language, Soomaali Language in an asset
  • Excellent in computer software programmes (Ms Word, Ms Excel, Ms Powerpoint, etc.) FENPS considers equal employment opportunities for recruiting of both short term and long term employees.
