Overview of position:

  • We are conducting an impact evaluation of the Cash for Work (CfW) program in Somalia for our client to assess its effectiveness in providing income support to vulnerable individuals & facilitating the development of essential community assets.

Population:

  • 1697 households in 14 districts in South Central, Somaliland & Puntland.

Role objectives

Field Supervisors key functions include but are not limited to:

  • Provide guidance & instructions to Enumerators.
  • Oversee Enumerators’ work during data collection.
  • Conduct periodic check ins with Enumerators to monitor progress & address any issues or challenges.
  • Ensure that Enumerators administer the follow up questionnaire accurately & comprehensively.
  • Review completed questionnaires for accuracy & consistency.
  • Maintain data integrity by upholding ethical standards throughout the data collection process.
  • Field Supervisors’ involvement is critical to ensure the reliability & quality of the data collected & to support Enumerators in their roles.
  • Field Supervisors will participate in training sessions organized by the Field Coordinator in Somalia to ensure a clear understanding of data collection procedures, ethical considerations & project objectives.

Project reporting

Field Supervisors will report to the Field Coordinator & work closely with the core team.

Key competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Statistics, Social Policy, Sociology, Development Studies, Agronomy, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in surveys & impact evaluations.
  • Proven working experience in Somalia.
  • Knowledge of the administrative structure & functions of both local & central government in Somalia.
  • Proficiency in local languages spoken in the study’s geographical areas.

Team management

They will be responsible for the supervision of Enumerators & the quality assurance of data collected.
