Overview of the position:
- Save human lives in the event of a plane crash & fight aviation fires.
- Ensure the first interventions for the building fires necessary for the survival of the airport.
- Ensure all other missions decided by the hierarchical Chief within the framework of the good progress of the airport operations.
Role objective:
- Wear a clean & complete uniform.
- Perform rescue, structural & crash fire accidents & extinguish fires with minimum damage to property while taking precautions to prevent rekindling.
- Respond with units to all crash / rescue & other emergency calls & perform duties required to preserve life & property.
- Keep RFFS unit equipment uniforms & protective gear in a clean and serviceable condition at all times.
- Keep the fire station & promises clean & in good order.
- Perform all related work tasks as assigned by SUP Officer.
- Assist in cleaning equipment after returning from emergency calls drills training activities etc.
- At the supervision of SUP Officer the Fire Fighters showed perform all duties related to the fire extinguishers shop.
- Operate equipment safety thereby preventing harm to personal or equipment.
- Be acquainted with the topography, physical condition & other matters affecting & emergency response both on & off the airport.
- Be familiar with practices & procedures relative to water supply, fire streams, equipment capabilities & other items enabling them to perform their duties.
- Ensure all tasks relating to the safety of the movement area (inspection of the runway, wildlife hazardous management) in accordance with the procedures in force.
- Supervise all daily, weekly, monthly & annual checks on all RFFS unit vehicles tools & equipment.
- Ensure his shift at the alarm room workstation following the operating log.
- Apply procedures that appear in the RFFS manual.
Project reporting:
- This role reports to the SUP Officer.
Team management:
- This role has no team management responsibility.
Education:
- Certificate in a relevant discipline..
Work experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of demonstrable relevant Aviation experience.
Geographical experience:
- Minimum of 2 year of experience in Africa (essential).
Languages:
- Fluency in English and Somali are essential.
Key performance indicators:
- Correct response time of fire tracks to location out of total test.
- Donning BA banking gear.
