As the Project Manager, you will manage Agriculture and Food Security SHF project, which is a moderate to high complex projects and You will be responsible fo;
1) Planning, developing and implementing project effort
2) Developing, establishing and maintaining project management standards and procedures
3) Reporting the progress of the programme at regular intervals to the programme director if this role is also defined.
4) Managing communication with all stalkholders.
5) Ensuring there is allocation of common resources and skills within the programme’s individual projects
6) Refining requirements, project coordination, developing plans and schedules, resource planning and estimation and project maintenance
7) Managing the programme’s budget on behalf of the SRO, monitoring expenditure and costs against delivered and realised benefits as the programme progresses.
Once a project is set in motion, you will be expected to communicate major milestones, identify potential project risks, provide continuing direction to the project team and conduct regular status meetings to review project activities. Furthermore, you will be responsible for managing the prioritization procedures for changing scope (i.e., change management) and project acceptance procedures. Near the end of the project, you will obtain feedback to ensure that project efforts meet customer expectations for contracted time, cost and performance.
Requirements include:
1) Bachelor’s degree in related field, specialized training or equivalent work experience.
2) Typically requires 5–9 years of Agriculture and Food Security/Livelihood work experience, including 2 or more years managing Agricultural inputs projects.
3) Effective in written and verbal communication in English and Somali.
4) Leading project teams rather than being part of a project team
5) The position requires ability and willingness to work in remote areas of Somalia with travelling domestically up to 10% of the time, when safe to do so.
